Meet Our Staff
Pastor
Sheldon Boyd is the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Community
Church. He has been our pastor for the past 13 years. He
not only serves the people of Cornerstone, but is actively involved
in serving the Chino Community. Sheldon serves on several civic
boards as well as serving as Police Chaplin for the Chino Police
Department. Pastor Sheldon each week shares messages from the
Bible that are designed to help us all become fully devoted
followers of Jesus as we also deal with the issues that are so
prevalent in each of our lives. Pastor Sheldon is also
passionate about God's five purposes for our lives, the purposes of
Fellowship, Worship, Ministry, Discipleship, and Mission. We
will discover not only purpose for our lives, but greater joy and
fulfillment as we endeavour to live out God's purposes for us.

Pastor Mike
Shipman and his wife Lyn began
attending what is now Cornerstone back in 1980. In March of 1982,
Pastor Mike began serving as the Youth Pastor. He served at
Cornerstone until September 1994, before taking a youth pastor
assignment at Santa Ana 1st Church of the Nazarene. In 1996
he became Student Ministries Pastor at Arlington Ave. Church of the
Nazarene in Riverside, and served there until October of 2003.
During these 21+
years, pastor Mike has led ministry trips to Mexico, Skid Row, San
Francisco, Appalachia, Alaska, Canada and many Native American sites
in the U.S. He also directed many winter camps, Jr. High and High
School Summer Camps, led the Anaheim District Ambassadors, and was
on the District NYI Council. He also coached JV football for seven
seasons at Don Lugo High School.
From 2003 to 2009,
Pastor Mike became Lead Pastor at The Family Church in Rancho Santa
Margarita, in south Orange County. The Family Church was a church
plant that had been without an assigned pastor for 18 months. The
Family Church was an exciting venture, and Pastor Mike and the
congregation were very involved within the community. Sadly, due to
the current economy, the decision was to not renew the church's
lease at the end of the term.
Pastor Mike returned
to the Church where he began his ministry in April of 2010. He is
currently serving as part-time interim associate pastor, and working
with ministries including teens, small groups and occasionally
preaching. It is great to be back "home" at Cornerstone!

John
Upcraft serves as Worship Leader of Cornerstone Community Church
of the Nazarene. Having music as a passion
since early childhood, he began playing drums at the age of 4. Learning guitar in Jr High he began to play in bands throughout
Southern California. A graduate of The Institute of Audio and Video
Engineering he has worked in both recording studios and in live
sound. After coming to Christ at Cornerstone, he began to play on the
worship team for several years before receiving the call to lead. "I
believe God gave us music because of it's ability to move and soften
one's heart. Through out the Bible you find music being used
to lead God's people and to unite them in praise." When not
working on music you can find John spending time with his wife of 20
years and his 2 children. John can be contacted at
